I used to always be fascinated by people who sit alone in the café with their laptops open and headphones on by drafting to their own world and forgetting about the chaotic world that they live in, away from this messy world where people are talking loudly, ordering something on the menu, or arguing among themselves. But I always used to wonder why people love to sit alone, won’t they get bored, do they not want to talk to friends, and I was like I can’t do that as I will be bored very quickly by myself. Even the thought of going on a solo tour was not for me because who wouldn’t like spending time with friends in an unknown destination and creating so many memories? But those childhood thoughts of mine when I was a child I didn’t see the world and its people properly. And now as I am an adult I LOVE MY COMPANY, I love to be alone and I never get bored. And now that I think about it, what I will say to my childhood self is that the world is very toxic and self-love and self-time are very important to get to know you because you are your only true friend. Unless and until you won’t understand every aspect of yourself, you won’t understand anyone nor should you expect others to understand you. Because when you are with people you always try to keep up with their expectations, you always try to chase them, you always try to be someone else that you aren’t, and you want to feel loved by them. But all those things should not matter because you are your best company, you don’t need any toxic people to make you feel bad about yourself, and if people try to give you an opinion about something that you are uncomfortable with then you don’t deserve to be with them, you deserve so much better girl. I have realized the importance of drafting in my own world, doing what I love without giving an explanation, I just want to be me, my best version that’s all. You don’t understand how much power you have until you truly try to understand yourself and that will only happen when you enjoy your own company.
