Taking a Break…

Sometimes you need to take a break from everyone and spend time alone to experience, appreciate, and love yourself. – Robert Tew

A couple of posts back I wrote about how as an adult my life has been the same. My daily routine is the same. I do the same thing every day, and I never realized it until now. Even though I do the same thing every day, my energy is getting drained, and I can feel myself getting physically and emotionally tired, and I wonder why. Because the stress is catching up to me, every single day with the same task, my stress level is increasing, and the funny thing is that I don’t realize it until the last energy is left in me. I think I need to do work no matter what because this is what adult life is all about, right? No, it is not, there is so much we need to do other than work, and that is just taking a rest. I see my break as a step back to just relax and appreciate what I have achieved till now, and then believe that I will do the same ahead as well. Everyone says that work is everything but nobody gives enough emphasis on how much a break is needed. Taking a break from a hectic life is not something that will come to mind until we don’t feel ourselves drained from the outside and inside, we won’t notice how hard we have worked, but we need to realize that before we feel ourselves drained, we need to take a break. Work is never going to stop nor the problems, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a break, life is unpredictable, however, life has bound you by fate, what is written in your fate will happen no matter what, so why not live peacefully before any destruction comes. So keep aside all your work, and just close your eyes, let your mind rest and soak in the mandatory break that you need. Doing work is important, but at the same time taking a break is highly important for your mind and body.

Stop feeling guilty for taking a break.

Review: ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call’ K-drama (2025)

“Man, who cares about the pittance? These shoes, this suit, this watch…I can get these things with my own money. For me, the white coat is not about making a living. It’s a sense of duty.” – Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok.

The first official K-drama of 2025 that I watched was The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. I love non-romantic dramas with plots of doctors, and fighters, which show a passion towards a particular field. This drama was all over my feed and nobody said a single bad thing about it, everyone recommended this drama and I am going to do the same thing. This drama follows the story of a war-seasoned doctor, Baek Gang-Hyeok, who was called to redevelop a failing trauma center. From the first day, he became the talk of the town for his life-saving skills, and he added two more people to his team: Doctor Yang Jae-won and a nurse, Cheon Jang-mi.

Let’s talk about the main attraction and character of this drama, Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I loved everything about him, his nature was shown so well. He looks so calm while performing surgery, but he can lose his temper in the smallest matter. I loved that they took someone older to play the character, his composed aura in the surgery room, and the whole complete chaos outside of it was so entertaining to watch. His surgery skills and how he quickly comes up with the method to save the patient were so mind-blowing. His funny side was awesome to watch, I laughed so hard. His fighting scenes were amazing to watch, his aura, unfilited comments everything about him screams royalty and his passion to save people.

Then we have Doctor Yang Jae-won, whose character was shown to be so relatable. He was the person who was always stressed, the boy has suffered a lot, but he did an incredible job. The way he and Doctor Bae Gang-Hyeok made an alliance to work together was so fun to watch. His character shows that if we find an incredible mentor who can push us at the right time, we can succeed properly.

Another favourite character of mine was nurse Cheon Jang-mi. This girl was everything and showed that nurses play such an important role in the hospital. I loved her calm side, she knew how to handle everything. I think she is quite good matched up with the crazy personality of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I need to give a shoutout to Doctor Han Yu-rim, I never hated him because he was so funny. I liked that in later episodes he was on the team with Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. His and doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok’s scenes were a treat to watch. Another shout out to Park Gyeong-won, he is someone who know what is right and works according to himself.

Overall, the plot was awesome, I liked that they added more information about medicine on the screen, and it did make sense as we move on. The plot is light, not at all intense and as the drama is super short, I liked that they did not add much, but properly closed every case. The team of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok was amazing, it is said to be true that with the right mentor we can do anything.

Highly recommended this drama, if you want to watch a medical vibe but not too intense, then this one if for you.

Keep Fighting!

I have been through too many wars to ever doubt my strength.

There are a lot of things we learn as we become adults; among them, the most important is that we have to fight in life to get what we want. Life is not as easy as we know; to survive, we need fire in us to fight against all the odds. It is not easy to walk the path that you know will have a lot of thorns and to survive that, you need to become a warrior. To win in life, one has to go through failure to understand what exactly winning feels like. Just like that in life, we have to become a warrior in every step to keep fighting and walking forward towards the things we want. Life is cruel but at the same time, it is worth every fight because we are warriors, we have a burning passion to fight for the life we want to live. Nothing comes without a fight and effort; everything has its own time and its own way to come, but we have to keep up with the race of life to smell and live the victory. There are not many moments in my life where I have experienced victory, but trust me when I say the moments when I felt like I have won the fight, the feeling can’t be expressed in words. And I will keep on fighting for the life I want to live because every life is worth fighting for and every life has a meaning. There are days when you will be a warrior while some days you will become a mess but what matters is that you are still there fighting and trying and I am so proud of you. Fighting not only means bravery and courage, but it also includes fear, isn’t bravery’s second name, fear? You are the only one who can make meaning out of your life. Life is given to you because you are strong even if you don’t know that yet, but you will eventually, so keep fighting!

You gotta fight alone.

Book Review: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

“I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.” – Achilles about Patroclus.

I had to do a research paper on mythology and literature, so I picked The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I would say this was my first proper historical fiction and I loved every single word of it. The book is a retelling of the Trojan War set during the Greek Heroic Age and is told from the perspective of Patroclus.

The character of Achilles is so complex, seeing him as a leader with no fear and strong passion truly made me addicted to this book. I loved how he was not afraid of anything, the royal blood made him so ready for the obstacles that would come in front of him. I liked his communication skills, just talk how much you need to. I think being a good leader comes with the quality of observing and finding out what one feels rather than talking much, which Achilles nailed. The way the writer has written Achilles’s fighting skills was incredible.

Talking about my favourite character, Patroclus, oh how much I wanted to give him comfort and love. Seeing how relatable he was because of his anxiety and how much his own parents criticised him for being not a good prince broke my heart. I think Achilles’s biggest motivation as well as weakness was Patroclus and people knew that, so we can say how this awkward prince has power in his heart. Till the last this boy fought through everything for his tribe and Achilles because he never wanted people to be against Achilles. He deserves so much and the saying is so true that goodness always leads to one’s destruction.

The characters of Achilles and Patroclus are moulded in a way that shows every aspect of the relationship. The chemistry, the intensity, the friendship, and the understanding of everything about them is so beautiful and heart-wrenching. They both were two peas in a pot, and both couldn’t live without each other. Achilles, the strongest man, gave his weakness to only Patroclus while Patroclus, the awkward prince found solace in the strong-headed Achilles.

The story is so beautiful and heart-wrenching. There is something so surreal about reading about mythologies of centuries and seeing how that has incorporated the world today. Greek mythology is beautiful but shattering at the same time. The end was so emotional and heartbreaking, that it still gives me goosebumps when I think about it.

If you are someone who likes reading about mythologies then I highly recommend this because it might hurt your head seeing so much going on altogether.

Don’t ever stop.

Never stop trying.

Never stop believing.

Never give up.

Your day will come.

I have always known that life is a cycle of happiness, sadness, happiness and just like that life continues. We humans tend to feel a lot of emotions that make us feel good and bad about ourselves. But do you know if we never feel sadness how will we ever realize the importance of happiness, how will we ever know how happy we are? Thoughts keep pouring into my mind about myself, whether I am doing well enough, and why I can’t see myself feeling satisfied with life and my goals. Because I always focus on my negative thinking and ignore my success and how much life truly has brought me happiness. Life indeed makes you think that your negative weighs over your positive and we just sit and question our lives. But I always remember how much I have done and how hard I am working and I am going to be okay. The important thing I have learned is to never stop, life is going to throw many challenges towards me but I have to keep pushing myself. Don’t ever stop, believe me, you are worth everything you want. Somedays might look tough and it will be difficult going through it but life is not always bad it’s the way you can see the good side of life and yourself. Don’t ever stop believing in yourself, you can do so much and you will realize that one day but before that please keep trying hard. Don’t think just do, because thinking will only make the scenario worse and what is not even true. Don’t ever stop for anyone, do whatever you want, you just live once and make the most out of it. The major thing that keeps me going is to try, at least try without caring about the result because trying won’t leave you with regret but not trying will.

don’t stop when you’re tired stop when you’re done

Review: ‘Marry My Husband’ K-drama (2024)

“Do you know what it means to not have a family? Have you been on a boat? After my dad died, it feels like I’m on a boat every day. My feet are firmly planted, but the board keeps rocking. I feel anxious. I want stability. I want to step on solid land.” – Kim Ji-Won.

This drama has me in a chokehold because of how entertaining it was. To be honest, I went into this drama with low expectations, however, I was into it so fast. First of all, I didn’t even understand when I went from the first episode to the fourth in the blink of an eye. Marry My Husband follows the story of Kang Ji-Won, who witnesses the affair between her husband and her best friend and is murdered by them. Then the story takes a turn when she goes back in time to change her future and get revenge.

Let me start with Yoo Ji-hyuk, I am sorry but why is he so underrated as a green flag, the man did everything for Kim Ji-Won. First of all, he is so soft-spoken and well-mannered. The way he came out of nowhere and just paved the way for Kim Ji-Won sparked my interest immediately. His love for her was everything, the man saved her by pushing himself into danger. From the start, he was very persistent in loving Kim Ji-won, which I loved. At first, he might look like a fool but in reality, he is super sharp in playing games.

Then we have Kim Ji-Won, the main lead of the drama. I loved her transformation, she is so beautiful. Her story tells me that it’s not about physical being but people around us. If we have the right people around us no matter how we look, they will always support us. Kim Ji-Won when meets the siblings, she realises how incredibly good she is but has people around her who take advantage of her. I loved to see her self-growth transformation, physically and mentally.

The chemistry was good plus the height difference. I loved their relationship from the start both understood each other so well. I love their friendship and how both were very well acquainted with each other like partners in crime. Since the vibe of the drama is dark and revengeful, their relationship stood out well in that aspect. I like the perspective of them being partners in crime and doing good justice to the plot. On the other side, their love is so pure and healthy. I love relationships where partners understand each other very well and there is one of them. Their past story was so heartwarming to watch, they really taught me what meant to be yours will find you eventually.

The plot line was everything, it was so engaging that I went through this drama too fast especially starting episodes. In a revenge drama for someone like me, I want just revenge without any stupid plotline of seeing the lead suffering again. I want revenge against the enemy and their downfall only and I think this drama truly did that. The drama is very fast-paced and interesting throughout and it is so much fun to watch the satisfying scenes. The ending is so beautiful and pure, I loved it.

If you want a fast-paced drama then I highly recommend this drama.

You can do it.

If you know you can do better…then do better.

I was not the kind of person who wrote proper goals but rather went with the flow. However, this year my best friend gave me a planner and for the first time in my life, I wrote a goal and guess what just within two months one of the biggest goals of my life is getting fulfilled today. I topped my first year of masters and saying I am over the moon would be an understatement. This is my first big achievement, I was not expecting this early. Let me tell you, I did my bachelors in something else but I was just leading my way ahead without actually gaining proper knowledge. So I decided to change my faculty and do something very different and I am so glad I took that step. It’s been a year and a half and almost six months left till I get my master’s degree and I never regret taking such a big step out of my comfort zone. By coming out of my comfort zone, I have realized that I could do so much but I need to be brave and just do it. It was hard coming out of my comfort zone and doing something so different because at this point it’s either going to take me up or throw me on the ground. And as we can see it gave me the wings to spread as much as I want to. When I started to take myself seriously, my passion and my strength I realized I could do it all, there is no negative voice that stops me, I just have one thing in my mind I want to do and I can do it.

Just like that, you can do it as well. Nothing in life is comfortable, especially things that you want in your life. You have to come out of your comfort zone and just do it. You don’t have to wait for the result, do it because you like it, because it makes you happy, because you see yourself getting better, and because you are enjoying it that is enough reason for you to just do it. I know you all can do it and it may look hard but your future, your passion, your happiness everything is calling your name so just do it.

Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

You can do it.

Book Review: What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

Clearly, we can see that I am in my thriller era and my next pick was What Lies Between Us by John Marrs, it was my first book by this author. The book follows the story of a mother and a daughter, Maggie and Nina. However, their relationship is very different from that of a typical mother-daughter relationship. Every night Nina helps Maggie after dinner to go to the attic and ties her with heavy chains that keep her there. Because Nina can never forgive Maggie for what she has done to her. Also, there are many secrets that Maggie has kept that Nina doesn’t know and she will keep it that way no matter what.

I don’t really know what I felt while reading this because it is more than a thriller, there are thrilling vibes however it is not exactly like a thriller book but more a horror story between a daughter and a mother. Nina’s character is one of the most dangerous characters I have ever read in a thriller. The way she was from the start showed and gave me all the hints of the plot twist. I was actually traumatized by Nina, her point of view was so aggressive and just out there, it’s crazy.

Maggie’s character shows a lot to the readers. I can understand she loved Nina a lot and would do anything for her but I felt like if she asked for help a lot of people would be alive. But a mother can go to any extent to save her daughter. I was so shocked reading how Maggie, the mother, did anything possible to save her daughter, Nina.

The storyline is very traumatizing and very deep. The book gave me a headache because there are shocking revelations throughout, and all of them are deeply disturbing. The plot twists were not shocking at all because I guessed almost all right, and that is what makes it not a thriller for me but more of a horror story about a daughter and a mother. Because as the revelations are made, the story turns crazier.

The vibe is so creepy and I was shocked by what I was reading. Nina is a very complex character and reading her different phases of life gave me creeps and I can never forget her character. The book gave me a headache in what I was reading, however, I felt it was more horror than a thriller. And the book was kind of slow so that did not fit right with me. The setting is very disturbing as well as the characters of Maggie and Nina.

I wouldn’t put out there to recommend this book but if you want to read please check the trigger warnings.

Everyday is same but why…

You know all those things you’ve always wanted to do?

You should go do them.

Every day is the same but why is the pressure on our mind increasing, why are we becoming more emotionally drained, why do we have to worry about our future rather than enjoying our present, why are we not becoming happy but sad, and why does life feel so hard? I have come to a realization that all my days look mostly the same however as I am moving on I feel myself getting more tired emotionally. I feel connected to flawed characters more whenever I read books or watch movies. I understand them more and their perspective comes first in my mind. And I wonder about the thought that used to come, will I ever be able to live like those in movies or books, is it coming true? But where is the happy part? I feel the pressure of the future has thoroughly made living in the present breathless. As we go on, we sleep at night and wake up to another day and just ponder on how we have to follow the same routine but now we have more baggage on our mind. I feel like as we move on we should be moving upwards in life, feeling ourselves more happy and grateful. But as days go on we are getting more drained and sad and I am afraid. Seeing a whole different side of the world makes me appreciate life more, especially my present and how living in the moment is so important. Every day will be the same, it’s life however it’s all up to us we have to fight for our lives. I have learned that for things that I want in my life, I have to fight for it, if I have to make my life good then I need to find a reason for it. Guys life is worth fighting for believe me, everyone wants to live a good life, a life they can remember forever but for that, we have to fight every single day. I know some days it’s hard but just think you are worth everything so fight and make life worth it so that even when every day will be the same you will find happiness moving forward.

You deserve good things.

Review: ‘Crash Landing on You’ K-drama (2019)

“You shouldn’t be good to people who beat you up. Those who throw punches don’t know how much it hurts, only those who take punches do. If someone tries to harass you, throw a punch first.” Yoon Se-ri

If I could convince you to watch one K-drama please let it be this one. This drama has everything, a beautiful laid-back setting, cinematography that makes you swoon on it, a breathtaking couple with sizzling chemistry, a thrilling plot, a second couple that makes us cry a bucket of tears and a group of the most amazing friends that we all wish to have. Crash Landing on You talks about Yoon Se-ri, a South Korean heiress who because of a paragliding mishap found herself in North Korea. Ri Jeong-Hyeok is a North Korean army officer who found her and decided to help her hide and send her back to her country.

Let’s start with Ri Jeong-hyeok, what is not there to not love him? Putting yourself at risk to hide a girl from the enemy’s country and make sure she is safe in his house, and then walking into the enemy’s country to protect her, how high the standard has to go. I loved his cold personality and at the same time his clueless self. That man appeared so cold infront of her yet did everything that she wanted. Why because he loves her? No, because he felt that he needed to do that. He is smart in many things but an absolute loser in love. When he realized he had feelings for her and nothing was making sense to him, he was so funny doing some embarrassing things that never failed to make me laugh. His aura throughout the drama was unmatched. He did everything for his love and I loved to watch it. This drama has the scene of him going out of control because the woman he loves is in danger. (the best scene)

Yoon Se-ri is a savage and at the same time a complete crackhead. The way she was so clueless being in North Korea and trying to be normal by being a complete crackhead was so fun to watch. I loved the contrast in her character, the fact she gets to enjoy freely in a country where she knows no one and on the other hand her own family doesn’t want her. I loved her character, she is seen as badass, savage, beautiful, and a welcoming woman.

Their friendship group was the best. In a drama where the plot line is about helping the leads, I love friendship groups. Because they add comedy as well as character to the drama. I loved the friendship group, they were hilarious. I loved that slowly they all warmed up to Se-ri, the hug of them when they met Se-ri again is imprinted in my mind forever. Because of them, both the leads got together and she got to go back to her country.

The plot line is so dramatic but perfectly executed. The way the episodes were coming and everything started to make sense had me so immersed in the show that I couldn’t stop watching. I loved the side of North Korea, the place, the people and the food. The vibe was so cosy yet haunting. I loved every second of this drama. The cinematography was breathtaking, the train scene, the house, the place everything fitted the drama so well. The costumes added an amazing richness.

The chemistry is everything. They are a real-life couple, what less would you expect? The understanding, the love, and the unspoken words between them every scene of their screams was dreamy. Their eye contact and hug after meeting again, I can never forget the scene. The promise was kept. The second lead couple, Seo Dan and Gu Seung-Joon this drama also stood high in giving me a second couple syndrome. Their story was so heartbreaking. Through the second lead couple, I understood that two broken people can fix or break each other more, and I cried with them.

I highly recommend this drama, please just watch it.
