Review: ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call’ K-drama (2025)

“Man, who cares about the pittance? These shoes, this suit, this watch…I can get these things with my own money. For me, the white coat is not about making a living. It’s a sense of duty.” – Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok.

The first official K-drama of 2025 that I watched was The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. I love non-romantic dramas with plots of doctors, and fighters, which show a passion towards a particular field. This drama was all over my feed and nobody said a single bad thing about it, everyone recommended this drama and I am going to do the same thing. This drama follows the story of a war-seasoned doctor, Baek Gang-Hyeok, who was called to redevelop a failing trauma center. From the first day, he became the talk of the town for his life-saving skills, and he added two more people to his team: Doctor Yang Jae-won and a nurse, Cheon Jang-mi.

Let’s talk about the main attraction and character of this drama, Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I loved everything about him, his nature was shown so well. He looks so calm while performing surgery, but he can lose his temper in the smallest matter. I loved that they took someone older to play the character, his composed aura in the surgery room, and the whole complete chaos outside of it was so entertaining to watch. His surgery skills and how he quickly comes up with the method to save the patient were so mind-blowing. His funny side was awesome to watch, I laughed so hard. His fighting scenes were amazing to watch, his aura, unfilited comments everything about him screams royalty and his passion to save people.

Then we have Doctor Yang Jae-won, whose character was shown to be so relatable. He was the person who was always stressed, the boy has suffered a lot, but he did an incredible job. The way he and Doctor Bae Gang-Hyeok made an alliance to work together was so fun to watch. His character shows that if we find an incredible mentor who can push us at the right time, we can succeed properly.

Another favourite character of mine was nurse Cheon Jang-mi. This girl was everything and showed that nurses play such an important role in the hospital. I loved her calm side, she knew how to handle everything. I think she is quite good matched up with the crazy personality of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I need to give a shoutout to Doctor Han Yu-rim, I never hated him because he was so funny. I liked that in later episodes he was on the team with Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. His and doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok’s scenes were a treat to watch. Another shout out to Park Gyeong-won, he is someone who know what is right and works according to himself.

Overall, the plot was awesome, I liked that they added more information about medicine on the screen, and it did make sense as we move on. The plot is light, not at all intense and as the drama is super short, I liked that they did not add much, but properly closed every case. The team of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok was amazing, it is said to be true that with the right mentor we can do anything.

Highly recommended this drama, if you want to watch a medical vibe but not too intense, then this one if for you.

Review: ‘Marry My Husband’ K-drama (2024)

“Do you know what it means to not have a family? Have you been on a boat? After my dad died, it feels like I’m on a boat every day. My feet are firmly planted, but the board keeps rocking. I feel anxious. I want stability. I want to step on solid land.” – Kim Ji-Won.

This drama has me in a chokehold because of how entertaining it was. To be honest, I went into this drama with low expectations, however, I was into it so fast. First of all, I didn’t even understand when I went from the first episode to the fourth in the blink of an eye. Marry My Husband follows the story of Kang Ji-Won, who witnesses the affair between her husband and her best friend and is murdered by them. Then the story takes a turn when she goes back in time to change her future and get revenge.

Let me start with Yoo Ji-hyuk, I am sorry but why is he so underrated as a green flag, the man did everything for Kim Ji-Won. First of all, he is so soft-spoken and well-mannered. The way he came out of nowhere and just paved the way for Kim Ji-Won sparked my interest immediately. His love for her was everything, the man saved her by pushing himself into danger. From the start, he was very persistent in loving Kim Ji-won, which I loved. At first, he might look like a fool but in reality, he is super sharp in playing games.

Then we have Kim Ji-Won, the main lead of the drama. I loved her transformation, she is so beautiful. Her story tells me that it’s not about physical being but people around us. If we have the right people around us no matter how we look, they will always support us. Kim Ji-Won when meets the siblings, she realises how incredibly good she is but has people around her who take advantage of her. I loved to see her self-growth transformation, physically and mentally.

The chemistry was good plus the height difference. I loved their relationship from the start both understood each other so well. I love their friendship and how both were very well acquainted with each other like partners in crime. Since the vibe of the drama is dark and revengeful, their relationship stood out well in that aspect. I like the perspective of them being partners in crime and doing good justice to the plot. On the other side, their love is so pure and healthy. I love relationships where partners understand each other very well and there is one of them. Their past story was so heartwarming to watch, they really taught me what meant to be yours will find you eventually.

The plot line was everything, it was so engaging that I went through this drama too fast especially starting episodes. In a revenge drama for someone like me, I want just revenge without any stupid plotline of seeing the lead suffering again. I want revenge against the enemy and their downfall only and I think this drama truly did that. The drama is very fast-paced and interesting throughout and it is so much fun to watch the satisfying scenes. The ending is so beautiful and pure, I loved it.

If you want a fast-paced drama then I highly recommend this drama.

Review: ‘Crash Landing on You’ K-drama (2019)

“You shouldn’t be good to people who beat you up. Those who throw punches don’t know how much it hurts, only those who take punches do. If someone tries to harass you, throw a punch first.” Yoon Se-ri

If I could convince you to watch one K-drama please let it be this one. This drama has everything, a beautiful laid-back setting, cinematography that makes you swoon on it, a breathtaking couple with sizzling chemistry, a thrilling plot, a second couple that makes us cry a bucket of tears and a group of the most amazing friends that we all wish to have. Crash Landing on You talks about Yoon Se-ri, a South Korean heiress who because of a paragliding mishap found herself in North Korea. Ri Jeong-Hyeok is a North Korean army officer who found her and decided to help her hide and send her back to her country.

Let’s start with Ri Jeong-hyeok, what is not there to not love him? Putting yourself at risk to hide a girl from the enemy’s country and make sure she is safe in his house, and then walking into the enemy’s country to protect her, how high the standard has to go. I loved his cold personality and at the same time his clueless self. That man appeared so cold infront of her yet did everything that she wanted. Why because he loves her? No, because he felt that he needed to do that. He is smart in many things but an absolute loser in love. When he realized he had feelings for her and nothing was making sense to him, he was so funny doing some embarrassing things that never failed to make me laugh. His aura throughout the drama was unmatched. He did everything for his love and I loved to watch it. This drama has the scene of him going out of control because the woman he loves is in danger. (the best scene)

Yoon Se-ri is a savage and at the same time a complete crackhead. The way she was so clueless being in North Korea and trying to be normal by being a complete crackhead was so fun to watch. I loved the contrast in her character, the fact she gets to enjoy freely in a country where she knows no one and on the other hand her own family doesn’t want her. I loved her character, she is seen as badass, savage, beautiful, and a welcoming woman.

Their friendship group was the best. In a drama where the plot line is about helping the leads, I love friendship groups. Because they add comedy as well as character to the drama. I loved the friendship group, they were hilarious. I loved that slowly they all warmed up to Se-ri, the hug of them when they met Se-ri again is imprinted in my mind forever. Because of them, both the leads got together and she got to go back to her country.

The plot line is so dramatic but perfectly executed. The way the episodes were coming and everything started to make sense had me so immersed in the show that I couldn’t stop watching. I loved the side of North Korea, the place, the people and the food. The vibe was so cosy yet haunting. I loved every second of this drama. The cinematography was breathtaking, the train scene, the house, the place everything fitted the drama so well. The costumes added an amazing richness.

The chemistry is everything. They are a real-life couple, what less would you expect? The understanding, the love, and the unspoken words between them every scene of their screams was dreamy. Their eye contact and hug after meeting again, I can never forget the scene. The promise was kept. The second lead couple, Seo Dan and Gu Seung-Joon this drama also stood high in giving me a second couple syndrome. Their story was so heartbreaking. Through the second lead couple, I understood that two broken people can fix or break each other more, and I cried with them.

I highly recommend this drama, please just watch it.

Review: ‘Amidst a Snowstorm of Love’ C-drama (2024)

“I don’t know how long I was on the phone that day. And he kept watching me through the window.” – Yin Guo.

I feel like C-dramas are the best palate cleanser, they have everything from love to friendship. It brings comfort to just relax and watch. Recently I came across a C-drama that has made me think what kind of a man I want. This drama changed everything for me and I am so shocked that the actors didn’t fall in love with each other because everything was so intense. The drama I am talking about is called ‘Amidst a Snowstorm of Love’ and follows the story of Yin Guo, a billiards prodigy who gets stranded with Lin Yi Yang during a Snowstorm at a tournament. Yi Yang stopped playing billiards but as both bonded, he started to see Yin Guo’s passion that wanted him to get back at the game.

Let’s start with the star of the show, Lin Yi Yang, the man you are. You guys he literally made the already set standard higher than the sky. His character development was the best, OMG the way he worked on himself, his career and him as a human, loved every second of it. I don’t think he deserves the hate he got for his mistake. Come on, please he was just thirteen, he was just a child and the people legit gave him so much hate for a mistake he made as a child. He is one of my top fictional C-drama men, he is perfect. OMG you guys, his eyes expressed so much, the love he had for Yin Guo was everything.

Yin Guo is very shy, OMG her shyness made me pause the video, and I think it makes sense if a man like Lin Yi Yang stared so intensely I would faint right there. But sometimes she acted too immature, I don’t like the female lead who is afraid to show their relationship publicly. There are just certain scenes where I just can’t stand her. There is no character development of hers, he is just the one talking about his background but she never shared about hers which I wanted to see.

“Last year I was at a small bar that’s the first time I saw her. I didn’t go inside, instead, I stood outside and watched her for about five minutes. Of course, she didn’t know this. I can still recall my thoughts at that moment. I have to meet her I have to go inside buy her a drink and get her number tonight. I knew exactly what I was thinking I knew, I knew she was the one. But I have no idea how to approach her or what to say to impress her. She is so pretty. I was scared to make any mistakes. Trust me. I was really afraid of screwing it all up. Well, what can I even say, she is so perfect and I might need to spend the rest of my life seeking her love. So, I’m not in a hurry at all.” – Lin Yi Yang.

The plot is mostly romance, however, they focused a lot on Lin Yi Yang’s mistake that he made when he was thirteen and billiards. I really wanted the friendship group to bond more, go on trips and enjoy, if they removed some billiards and added more on this it would become so comforting to watch. The friendship group of Lin Yi Yang was everything they legit cried when he said he was coming back in the game. This drama is a very slow-burn romance, I love slow-burn romance so this drama was perfect for me.

The chemistry, OMG every scene of theirs was so romantic because Lin Yi Yang’s expressive eyes towards Yin Guo was everything. Lin Yi Yang’s act of service OMG what is not that he has not noticed about her, he did everything for her, the care and the way he makes her comfortable. There is so much romance in this drama every scene will want you to pause and look up and think when will I get a man like Lin Yi Yang. I wanted more of their conversations to show their growth but every conversation revolved around billiards, which I thought overpowered their development. He was the only one who opened up about everything while from her side she never shared much which I wanted to see. He falls in love with her at first glance and their height difference is just beautiful.

When I first met Lin Yi Yang’s friend group, I thought many would be negative, but as the story progressed, I loved how each of them supported him so much, their tears seeing him get back on track. I hope everyone gets this kind of friendship where the friends are happier than you for you. Yin Guo’s brother, another character I thought would be negative, but he was the cupid shipper for them; I loved him.

The drama is filmed across Finland, France and China so the cinematography was top-notch.

If you love slow-burn romance and an act of service phenomenal man, then this drama is for you.

I’m not a big talker. But I want to chat with you.” – Lin Yi Yang.

Review: ‘When the Phone Rings’ K-drama (2024)

“The world won’t fall apart if you speak up. Everything you want to say, the things you’ve held back say whatever you want.” – Baek Sa-eon.

The last official K-drama that I followed in 2024 was ‘When the Phone Rings’ and let me tell you after the release of its first two episodes the next day I was hooked when my social media was filled with their edits and I decided to give it a go and loved it. So it follows the story of Baek Sa-eon, a rising politician and his mute wife, Hong Hee-joo. A tense marriage begins to unravel after a call from a kidnapper and their life turns upside down.

I loved this drama so much, especially the beginning. The vibe, the characters, the cinematography, the dialogues, the suspense, the music, everything was top-notch. It was the drama that sucked me in so fast that from the first episode, I was hooked. The plot was plotting and the chemistry was electrifying. I love how everything was very well balanced and the way each episode just sucked you in with its climax scenes.

Talking about Baek Sa-eon, I loved him from the beginning, especially the first 6 episodes. His aura makes him look so powerful and it increases the quality of drama as well. He is the green flag in disguise, he legit arranged his marriage with his wife and showed to the world and his wife that it was a contract marriage. When the revelation started to begin everything made sense and I was in awe. I think his character was written spectacularly and he has suffered a lot even though it was not his mistake.

“I lived because of you. I endured because of you.” – Baek Sa-eon.

Then we have Hong Hee-Joo. In the beginning, I thought she would be a weak character, but I was so shocked to see how she was one of the strongest characters. Her phone call version is my favourite personality of hers in the show. She deserves all the love she gets. The girl goes through a lot but in the end, gets what she always wanted. Her eyes speak so much, and her sign language makes her character beautiful.

Their chemistry was the reason I watched this show. They paired with each other so well and the actors actually looked like they were the characters in real life. I love that there is no misunderstanding between them. Baek Sa-eon when gets to know about Hee Joo understands without misunderstanding her, I liked that they focused on the main plot rather than adding unnecessary problems between the couple. I loved that in the later episodes they understood each other so much, their childhood story was just beautiful. I think they as a couple fit way too well and made the drama excellent. Their love for each other was so strong that they were ready to die for each other. This drama also had some of the best kisses in the whole K-drama trajectory.

“Why was I born? I always thought about it. If I have to live someone else’s life against my will, why was I born? But I think I found the answer to why I was born and why I had to leave as Baek Sa-eon. It was to meet you.” – Baek Sa-eon.

Talking about the plot, it was something different and thrilling. I loved the concept of phone calls, I also love that they let the thriller flow rather than adding too much. I loved the dark vibe at the beginning of the drama, the intense music and Baek Sa-eon’s expression made the drama quality more elegant and watchworthy. Also, the timing was perfect for everything, from revelation to the last episode. I loved that they did not add much family drama but focused on the leads. But then the last episode happened, if you are familiar with K-dramas ending you might know that they drag too much till the end and give only few minutes of happiness, this drama was the same. The last episode was like I watching a new drama’s first episode because it was such an out of the box happening but then they added the political issue and lost me.

Overall the drama is a must-watch, I highly recommend it.

“For once, I want to protect you. So that you never suffer or get hurt again.” – Hong Hee-Joo.

Review: ‘High School Frenemy’ Thai Drama (2024)

“The most important thing that I’m giving up.

It’s not school.

It’s you, Shin.” – Saint.

After seeing so many reels of this drama, I decided to give it a try and I went blind into it without knowing anything was it the best decision? Hell yeah! I am someone who hardly has dramas that are stuck in my mind otherwise I just watch it for fun. But if I watch a drama and it touches my heart and soul then it is game over for me, it will become my personality and I will never recover from that hangover ever. And this is what happened when I watched ‘High School Frenemy’ and OMG what a masterpiece. It is about Saint and Shin who used to be best friends in the past, however, an incident broke their friendship. Both belong to two different campuses but the administrator decides to combine both campuses which for many years hated each other. But now they will be sharing the same roof for the next school year. I didn’t know that it was a remake of School 2013, the Korean drama.

For me, friendship is the most important and valuable thing in my life. I think no love can top the friendship relationship. And this drama made me more empathetic and grateful towards my friends. The plot, the friendship, and the pure relationship between teacher and student were just beautiful to watch in this drama. I love the male lead when they are quiet and mysterious but actually, a beast inside that is what Saint is. Even though it is kind of a plot twist the second I saw him in the first episode I knew he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Saint, what can I say about him, he is such a character who would do anything for his friends, but he is also a flawed character who has made mistakes as a teenager. Sky who played the character of Saint, OMG has done such incredible acting, the way his eyes are always filled with guilt and regret. The way he acted so helpless because he wanted forgiveness, the way he delivered the dialogues, and the way he acted through his eyes made the drama and character more special.

Then we have Shin, he is just a pure character. In the beginning, you will meet Shin, you might not like him but his best friend, Saint did to him making his action totally understandable. Nani, who has played the character of Shin, what can I say about it? He has done such marvellous acting, and his eyes are the star of his character. He is just a pure character, so kind, and so forgivable. He went through so much pain but he was so selfless. I loved his character the most because being selfless is not easy and only strong people can do it like him.

“You must have changed for real.

But one’s true nature is unlikely to change.” – Shin.

Let’s talk about the friendship between them, OMG that is the star of the drama. The dialogue, the staring, and the longing between them were so powerful that they made me breathless. It is a bromance but there was something more powerful between them, and the chemistry was just off the chart. Having a friend who can do anything for each other, even die is what they were to each other. Saint taking a beating for Shin and telling him, he will protect him forever was just beautiful to watch. Shin making sure to be with Saint forever, their friendship is just amazing and pure. The conversation between them was a chef kiss. Did I sob when they mend their friendship? Did I not stop giggling? Did I want everyone to have a friend as their safe zone? A big yes. And let me tell you the secret, I have a best friend who is my personal diary, my trauma relief, and the friendship that I ever wanted, and I will be forever thankful for that girl.

Another star of the show is Chadjen. He was the cupid for Saint and Shin to recover their friendship. I adored him so much. Then we have the teacher Jan. She was the moment and the character of the drama. If only in real life we had teachers who understood us rather than judged us, this world would be so much better. Jan is so beautiful from inside and outside. Because of her, all the classmates became friends, and the war ended.

This drama will forever be in my mind and I will always have a wish to erase it again so that I can watch this drama again for the first time. The chemistry, the friendship, the lessons, and the understanding between teacher and student were top-notch. Everything in this drama was a chef kiss.

If you can take any one recommendation from me, please be it this one and thank me later.

“You don’t need to understand us if you already judge us.” – Saint.

Review: ‘The Judge from Hell’ K-drama (2024)

“Having a pulse does not mean she is alive. Her mental state’s all messed up, and she has no will to live. Breathing isn’t living.” – Kang Bitna

I love revenge dramas, I love the feeling of satisfaction however many dramas that I have watched don’t do a good justice, they just felt muh. But this drama The Judge from Hell exceeds every expectation of mine. OMG! You guys, the punishments are soooooo satisfying, I just love it. This is a story about a devil, Justitia who gets a mission to live in Judge Bit-na’s body and drag criminals back to hell.

Kang Bit-na, what to say about her, every word defining her would not be enough. I love how evil she is I mean come on she is a demon, she is supposed to be wicked and I love that they showed her evil aspect really well. She is so funny and unserious, I love that they did not make her serious but a maniac with every bit of unseriousness filled in her. The thing that I loved the most in this drama was that Bitna was the one giving the punishment, she was the one hitting and unalive the criminal. I love the whole thing where the criminal is living the victim’s life, the criminals are getting the taste of their own medicine. Park Shin-Hye has nailed this role, her eyes are the main character, her clothes, her style, her attitude and her walk, everything about her screams she is a demon from hell. I think Kang Bit-na will be one of my favourite female characters; she is someone I would love to get inspired by.

“The hell you’ll go to after death is scary. But it’s not as bad as the hell you face while living. This place you all live in is the real hell filled with demon-like humans.” – Kang Bitna

Han Da-on, this character, at first, I did not vibe with him because he was annoying as he kept telling Bitna how bad she was and I mean what to expect from her. She is a demon, she is supposed to be like that but later, I loved him. He is funny, especially when he gets confused about Bit-na when he gets to know she is a demon. I loved his techniques in capturing Bita-in in action, but he fails every time. But then he uses his brain. I was not expecting that. I thought they were having a romantic moment, but then PLOT TWIST, I loved it. I think Han Do-on become hotter and capable of being with Kang Bit-na after the 7th episode.

Talking about chemistry, nowadays a lot of K-dramas focus on cute and unserious couples just as Kang Bit-na and Han Da-on. At first, they are like a cat and mouse, Han Da-on trying to catch her while she wants to complete her mission so badly that she even unalive him but makes the situation worse. When they joined hands, it was so much fun to see them being comfortable around each other. Their hugs are so beautiful and so is their chemistry.

The plot was remarkable, I love that there were many stories included and every story ended in a perfect punishment. I loved every second of Park Shin-hye’s action moments. She did her action scenes so well, I was legit sucked in watching her fight. I loved that this show really focused on the demon aspect and it was filled with the grey vibe. At every end of the episode, there is a plot twist and wants us to just keep watching. I was afraid that they would add a plot where they would make Kang Bit-na weak and the same plot but throughout the drama, she proved that she is a demon.

I highly recommend this drama, it’s very unique and very satisfying to watch. I binge-watched it.

Review: ‘W- Two Worlds’ K-drama (2016)

“I’m someone who’s hoping for you to have a happy ending. I’m your fan.” – Oh Yeon Joo

2016 was an iconic era for K-drama lovers because the number of K-dramas that came with so much versatility is mind-blowing like this ‘W: Two Worlds’ K-drama starring Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo. I have never seen this kind of drama again and to be honest 2016 was not ready for this masterpiece. It is about a doctor, Oh Yeon Joo whose father is a webtoon creator and he created a webtoon called ‘W.’ Everything is going well until she gets dragged into her father’s webtoon and saves the protagonist, Kang Chul. Kang Chul gets really confused by her sudden appearance and disappearance but falls in love with her without knowing anything. This leads to him following her to the real world.

The drama concept is unique, and it was executed really well. I could feel the difference in both worlds. The plot was something I really appreciated watching because of how unique and different it is from the other dramas. I liked how fast Oh Yeon Joo grasped the concept of how to go back to the real world, and some of the ways she did were hilarious. I did not find myself getting confused about how the story was moving because I think it was like an open book and everything was making sense perfectly. Another reason why I liked this drama was that I did not have to use my brain much. I loved that in the beginning she was saving him then, in the end, he was the one who took charge of getting everything right and saving her.

Now talking about the characters, I absolutely adored Kang Chul, he was shown in different phases as he discovered his reality. I loved his and Yeon Joo’s first scene and his eagerness to meet her again. I could say that she really met him at times when he needed her the most. In the starting, he is shown as a kind and straightforward man who helps Yeon Joo. Then later he realized his reality and became more serious and intimidating, he looked handsome. I loved that he was shown as intelligent in knowing the situation and accordingly, he acted on it.

“Gosh. You’re such an unpredictable woman. You suddenly showed up, slapped me in the face, kissed me, disappeared, and showed up again. Now, you suddenly take your clothes off and point a gun at me.” – Kang Chul

Yeon Joo, the girl because of her father was a mess. The way she got sucked into the parallel universe and had to deal with everything. She was legit funny in front of the people of the parallel universe as her talks made no sense. The way she acted so deranged to make sense to the people was a treat to watch. I loved her character because she was smart and grasped everything very fast and within episodes she made everything right as well.

I cried for Kang Chul when he realized his reality about how he is a webtoon character and someone is writing his story. His realization that his friend is not even real and he lost his family and his world. The chemistry is beautiful as I already wrote at first she was saving him but later he was the one saving her. He falls in love with her at first sight and whenever he meets her, she saves him so it does make sense for him to fall in love with her.

The ending was beautiful with everything making sense and the couple getting their happily ever after. The supporting cast was hilarious I have to mention them.

I highly recommend this drama if you want to watch something fantasy yet not so much confusing. This drama has everything comedy, thriller, romance, fantasy, basically an outstanding K-drama.
