Friends at Different Stages of Life…

True friendship isn’t about being inseparable. It’s about being separated and nothing changes.

Just imagine you are sitting with your friends in the canteen during your lunch break and discussing your future and where you all will be in the next ten years, and you promise each other that you will be together in every step of your life. Now, ten years later, you find yourself alone doing something totally different while your other friends are doing something else. And that, my friend, is the reality of life. You never thought that one day the friends you used to share your bench with would now be so far away, living their lives while you are living yours. That’s what we call the different stages of life that everyone goes through. Nobody stays at the same stage because everyone has their own choice and their own path in life. One of your friends is getting married, one is moving to a different country, and one is opening their own business, while you are probably thinking about your future. Friends who share the same conversations every day are now living at different stages of their lives. Why does nobody talk about how lonely it feels trying to find the right path by yourself? It is crazy to see myself and my friends living a full adult life. Whenever I talk or think about my friends, I feel like we truly grew up so fast from canteen talk to adult talk, and now we stand at different stages of our lives. What hurts the most is that we will never be sitting and chatting happily in the canteen again, and we will never be children again. But we did make beautiful memories that all will cherish forever, and that’s the power of memories; whenever we want, we can reminisce about them. Now, wherever I look at my friends, I feel incredibly proud and happy, as they were the same people who used to make me laugh and make my life better. Cheers up, people, we might be at different stages of life, but the life we lived, the memories we created, will forever be there in our hearts.

Friendship is the purest form of love.

Review: ‘High School Frenemy’ Thai Drama (2024)

“The most important thing that I’m giving up.

It’s not school.

It’s you, Shin.” – Saint.

After seeing so many reels of this drama, I decided to give it a try and I went blind into it without knowing anything was it the best decision? Hell yeah! I am someone who hardly has dramas that are stuck in my mind otherwise I just watch it for fun. But if I watch a drama and it touches my heart and soul then it is game over for me, it will become my personality and I will never recover from that hangover ever. And this is what happened when I watched ‘High School Frenemy’ and OMG what a masterpiece. It is about Saint and Shin who used to be best friends in the past, however, an incident broke their friendship. Both belong to two different campuses but the administrator decides to combine both campuses which for many years hated each other. But now they will be sharing the same roof for the next school year. I didn’t know that it was a remake of School 2013, the Korean drama.

For me, friendship is the most important and valuable thing in my life. I think no love can top the friendship relationship. And this drama made me more empathetic and grateful towards my friends. The plot, the friendship, and the pure relationship between teacher and student were just beautiful to watch in this drama. I love the male lead when they are quiet and mysterious but actually, a beast inside that is what Saint is. Even though it is kind of a plot twist the second I saw him in the first episode I knew he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Saint, what can I say about him, he is such a character who would do anything for his friends, but he is also a flawed character who has made mistakes as a teenager. Sky who played the character of Saint, OMG has done such incredible acting, the way his eyes are always filled with guilt and regret. The way he acted so helpless because he wanted forgiveness, the way he delivered the dialogues, and the way he acted through his eyes made the drama and character more special.

Then we have Shin, he is just a pure character. In the beginning, you will meet Shin, you might not like him but his best friend, Saint did to him making his action totally understandable. Nani, who has played the character of Shin, what can I say about it? He has done such marvellous acting, and his eyes are the star of his character. He is just a pure character, so kind, and so forgivable. He went through so much pain but he was so selfless. I loved his character the most because being selfless is not easy and only strong people can do it like him.

“You must have changed for real.

But one’s true nature is unlikely to change.” – Shin.

Let’s talk about the friendship between them, OMG that is the star of the drama. The dialogue, the staring, and the longing between them were so powerful that they made me breathless. It is a bromance but there was something more powerful between them, and the chemistry was just off the chart. Having a friend who can do anything for each other, even die is what they were to each other. Saint taking a beating for Shin and telling him, he will protect him forever was just beautiful to watch. Shin making sure to be with Saint forever, their friendship is just amazing and pure. The conversation between them was a chef kiss. Did I sob when they mend their friendship? Did I not stop giggling? Did I want everyone to have a friend as their safe zone? A big yes. And let me tell you the secret, I have a best friend who is my personal diary, my trauma relief, and the friendship that I ever wanted, and I will be forever thankful for that girl.

Another star of the show is Chadjen. He was the cupid for Saint and Shin to recover their friendship. I adored him so much. Then we have the teacher Jan. She was the moment and the character of the drama. If only in real life we had teachers who understood us rather than judged us, this world would be so much better. Jan is so beautiful from inside and outside. Because of her, all the classmates became friends, and the war ended.

This drama will forever be in my mind and I will always have a wish to erase it again so that I can watch this drama again for the first time. The chemistry, the friendship, the lessons, and the understanding between teacher and student were top-notch. Everything in this drama was a chef kiss.

If you can take any one recommendation from me, please be it this one and thank me later.

“You don’t need to understand us if you already judge us.” – Saint.

Review: ‘Love Next Door’ K-drama (2024)

“I doubt my decision a dozen times a day and wonder if I’ve made the right choice. But I still think that it’s better to regret doing something than to regret not doing something”. – Choi Seung-Hyo

I am so frustrated and angry with the writers of this drama. OMG, you guys don’t know how excited I was to watch this drama as it was supposed to be a friends-to-lovers trope and it was told that the couple would be chaotic, I mean it makes sense they are friends. However, all my expectations went down the drain, the writers did not make the right use of the chemistry between Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min, they would be such a power couple if the storyline was great. So it is about two friends Choi Seung-Hyo and Bae Seok-Ryu. Choi Seung-hyo is a successful architect while Bae Seok-Ryu works outside South Korea but leaves everything and returns. She tries to reboot her life and her relationship with Choi Seung-Hyo.

Let me break down how it went bad. The first two episodes were perfect, they were chaotic and showed their friendship. It fulfils and shows that the drama will be chaotic and have a healing vibe, and I wanted that. But then the third episode happened and I knew it would not be my cup of tea as in chaotic and happy vibes. In the third episode, the writers went too crazy and included a lot of Seok-ryu trauma altogether, which should have been done in later episodes or in parts. My mood went off then too I continued it and it did get better the next episode, but then the writer did the worst thing by making Choi Seung-Hyo, an idiot. I mean in the beginning he was with her and he was the only one who understood her then why did they make him such an idiot later, he was such a green flag.

“Looking back now, I feel a bit sorry for myself. I cared about how others saw me, and I don’t think I paid attention to myself.” – Bae Soek-Ryu

In the later episodes, Choi Seung-hyo starts ignoring Bae Seok-ryu as he likes her but cannot confess. I mean where is the friendship, she needed him the most and he left her all alone without explaining anything. Love comes second but what about them being friends since childhood? The writers destroyed that by making Seung-hyo ignore and cold to her, I am sorry hello, it makes no sense. Then their exes entered the drama and actually, it was good but the worst of the worst happened they added the disease plot and I would not watch it. Nothing makes sense at all, the fact is most people continued it because Jung Hae-in gave the spoiler. Seok-Ryu endured so much all alone that she did not even tell Seung-Hyo, I mean the way he was with her, how could she tell him.

I wanted to see their friendship, chaotic side, bond, and understanding, but all went downhill. We just get to see their love but I did not feel any chemistry because the writer did all the damage in the beginning. I could not enjoy their love moments because their bond was supposed to be built on trust, not revelation and regret. The chemistry would have been so fierce and I was so excited to see them on screen together but a huge disappointment.

Now let’s talk about the things I love about the drama, actually apart from the main couple I liked everything. The side couple, Kang Don-ho and Jeong Mo-eum stole the spotlight. They were everything that I wanted the main couple to be. They were chaotic, understanding, hilarious, and lovable. Then comes another couple, the parents of Choi Seung-Hyo, they were my favourite of all. If you have watched Queen of Tears, the parents are the older version. I love them, I thought their story would be incomplete but their plot twist was the best. I love the character of Seok-Ryu, she represents all the children out there who are buried underneath the expectations of their parents. I was so touched by her and how strong she was and I am glad she gets to reboot her life the way she wants. She shows it’s never too late and too easy.

“Parents aren’t always right, they make mistakes with their children too. When you argue over it, you end up feeling guilty for no reason.” – Love Next Door

I love the contrast shown between Seung-Hyo and Seok-Ryu’s families. His family doesn’t care so he can be whatever he wants and do whatever he wants but there is no love. But then Seok-Ryu’s family has a bond that binds her to her parent’s expectations, and she doesn’t want to hurt them.

I personally would not recommend this drama as it’s nothing special but infact boring.

“Not everyone can be special. Most people just live ordinary lives. So don’t be too obsessed with becoming someone great. Just find what’s valuable in your life. That’s more than enough.” – Bae Seok-Ryu

Review: ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo’ K-drama (2016)

“We can’t do anything about the people we hate. You’re pretty and popular, but that’s not everything. You should be a decent human being first.” – Kim Bok-Joo’s father

I will never stop raving about this K-drama ever. I am not usually someone who has comfort dramas but this right here proves me wrong. I watched this drama years ago but I remember every piece and how much it has brought me comfort. If you watch K-dramas you might know that the male leads are often portrayed as cold-hearted and serious. But this drama brought back the male lead who is unserious, comedic and crazy. So basically it is about Kim Bok-joo who is pursuing her dream to become a weightlifter, she gets a crush on her friend Jung Joon-Hyung’s older brother Jung Jae-Yi.

Let’s start with Kim Bok-joo, she is so funny and cute. Her whole friendship group is hilarious and she did an incredible job of portraying an athlete. Her father runs a chicken shop with his brother and both are hilarious which adds no boring scenes to the drama. The main focus is also on their food and how a weightlifter has to maintain their body. Even their eating scenes are full of comedy. I love how she has a crush but is clueless about how to express herself. This is where the main hero, Joon-Hyung, comes into the picture. He tries to help her but each scenes turn into comedy. There are a lot of comedic scenes that went viral and still make me laugh.

Jung Joon-Hyung is a masterpiece character written in K-drama history. He is so unserious, hilarious, and unhinged. He is a swimmer with a past and meets Kim Bok-joo in college again. He is a green flag and truly gives her the right advice. His acting is on point, the hilarious face he makes or unhinges talks of his takes the drama to another level. They became good friends and their scenes were so calming because you can see how a beautiful relationship they have created. The confession scene is iconic, it’s the right word to describe it. She is so clueless when he gives her hints about his feelings, it makes the drama more hilarious because of her response.

The chemistry is electrifying. Even after they get into a relationship. The bond of their friendship still surfaces. They are still hilarious and a teenage couple trying to figure out each other. There is so much depth to their chemistry that I loved every moment of theirs. I think their pair can maintain a romance and comedy to their relationship which is one of the reasons why I loved this drama so much.

The plot focuses on sports, friendship, love, food, comedy, and the depth of being surrounded by the people who love and encourage you in every step of your life. I highly recommend this drama. Watch it if you want something different filled with comedy, friendship, love, and food.

A Good Friendship – Precious Treasure!

Friend

(noun)

one who listens, doesn’t judge, and somehow makes everything all right.

Happy Friendship Day to all my friends out there:) You are amazing, beautiful they way you are! I always believe that friendship is the most superior relationship one could have maybe with their parents, siblings or your love ones. When you are with friends you have no filter in you, you are as free as you can, can express yourself the way you want, behave being you. Friendship is a gift from God. A friend can see through you like a glass. One good friend can change your entire world. Friendship does not mean gifting each other but showing love with your close eyes. Friends are not with us all the time, but their prayers are always upon us just like stars you can’t see them but still they are in the sky shining brightly upon you. How rare is to find true love but finding friendship is rarer. I have a small group of friends to some I talk daily and to some talks happens in months. Yet friendship is as strong as ropes. Daily conversations with friends start with – “You know what happened today?”, even we know that they don’t know a single things about it. Well it happens with me and my friend we always start our conversations like this. If you have one trustworthy friend in your life you are the most luckiest person in the entire world. A friend who gives you advices when needed, console when you are crying, cracks joke in the worst time, make you smile in your worst, never leaves you when you needed them the most is the most beautiful friendship. Friendship never happens with special person, but when friendship happens they automatically becomes SPECIAL! I can tell, I am crazy and my friends are crazy too;) Friendship never means expensive gifts but handmade letters, Friendship never means sharing the food but eating all the food of other. Friends know the side of yours that nobody knows. Cheers to all the friendship out there! Be the amazing friend you are and always spread love:)

I LOVE YOU MY DEAR FRIEND👩‍❤️‍👩

The most beautiful things in life are not things. They’re people and places and memories and pictures. They’re feelings and moments and smiles and laughter.
