Review: ‘Boys Over Flowers’ K-drama (2009)

“Guys didn’t do things for no reason in front of a girl they like. There’s always a reason.” – Yoon Ji Hoo

Yes, I am in my early K-drama zone because now K-dramas don’t hit like they used to. So I am back with the iconic and classic K-drama of all time, Boys Over Flowers, which is almost 2 decades old. And the irony is that whenever I watch this drama, it never feels that old, as if it belongs to the 2000s. This storyline is adapted in so many languages, and I have watched it in almost all. I don’t know, but the storyline is very much suitable for an adult like me. The story follows the life of Geum Jan Di, who belongs to a lower class, and one day she gets a scholarship to study at one of the most prestigious Shin Hwa High School. Because of her bubbly and stubborn nature, she gets picked on by Gun Jun Pyo, one of the most popular students of the school. But later, he finds himself attracted to her.

A classic 2000 storyline, and I have seen so many adaptations of this, but classic always remains classic. Definitely in today’s time, we will never appreciate Gun Jun Pyo, and to be honest, I never approved of him, especially because of his horrendous hairstyle. I want to start by stating that I am a member of Team Yoon Ji-hoo, just like Team Edward or Team Jacob. Gun Jun Pyo and Yoon Ji-hoo were the two leads, and fans would fight over who they were supporting.

Let’s start with the character of Gun Jun Pyo, a big red flag because of his emotional trauma. It is very important in a relationship for both to be there emotionally; however, Gun Jun Pyo couldn’t be. And that was the downfall of his character. I mean, we can’t blame him, as that’s his situation, but definitely not someone I could ever be with. I don’t know why she ended up with him when there was a whole green flag waiting for her. But then I remember, Gun Jun Pyo is the male lead, not the second lead, so she has to end up with him.

Then we have my favourite character, Geum Jan Di. Her innocent look and the way she talks are just worth watching. She is not cringy but a wholesome character. No wonder so many fell for her. Yoon Ji-hoo is the greatest green flag, but he was also the second lead. No matter what, I wanted them together.

The chemistry is good, but so much is happening as we start from enemies to lovers, and there are so many chaotic moments between them, which I honestly loved. The cinematography is amazing. The OST, I still very much listen to. So Yi Jung, an early crush for everyone, I mean, his smile is absolutely breathtaking, and his chemistry with Cha Ga Eul is just beautiful. Their love story is like a fresh breeze of air.

Song Woo-bin, an iconic character with his iconic talks. The storyline is very appealing and has high school vibes. The atmosphere is a mix of laughter, love, fighting, happiness, and tears. I loved the chaotic side of the story. I loved Gun Jun Pyo’s clueless side and Geum Jan Di’s talks. The highlight is definitely the fading away of the difference between the boys and her, and how they all became close and supportive of each other.

It’s a classic, do watch it if you want to indulge in 2000s high school vibes.

Review: ‘The Heirs’ K-drama (2013)

“One who wants to wear the crown, bear its weight.”

“What type of crown were you trying to wear?

Was it wealth, fame, or love?” – The Heirs

The frustration I felt while watching this drama was so strong that I still remember it after such a long time. I feel like this drama was and is the real mirror to the aristocratic family. Also, this rich family has the most traumatised kids because of the household situation and social pressure. The K-drama that I am going to talk about is ‘The Heirs’, which is more than a decade old but doesn’t feel like it. The story is about rich kids and how, because of a problematic family, all of them suffer. It follows the story of Cha Eun-sang, a servant’s daughter who gets to study in the most prestigious school, where she hides her identity. Kim Tan is the illegitimate son of the rich family where Cha Eun-sang’s mother works as well as lives. They fall in love with each other but deal with a lot because of the difference in their backgrounds.

Now, if we watch this drama now, there would definitely be so many differences in opinions, but I am writing what I felt watching it at that time. If we start with the character of Kim Dan, he was definitely highly flawed, as he was not loved by his father and was not accepted. So, imagine being in love with someone who is emotionally unstable; it definitely makes life hard. He is such a sad character, and especially the dialogue and eyes that speak out his feelings.

Cha Eun-sang is also struggling because of expenses and her mother’s health, so I could say every character of this series is highly flawed. She is emotionally drained, and when she started going to the prestigious school, it made it even worse.

Choi Young-do and Rachel Yoo are my favourite characters from the series. Again, they were deeply flawed, but I see myself relate to them. Choi Young-do is one of the characters who started the second lead syndrome for me. Actually, I like Kim Woo-bin, so I might be biased. Jo Myung-soo, another very important character that actually helped in lowering the trauma of this series, I can’t believe he is the same Park Hyung-sik from The Happiness.

The plot line is very much tiring because of their class difference; they keep having low moments in their relationship. But in the end, I could see both were very much tired from all of that. It’s all about the parents’ fault, and the kids are suffering, which is very much a common thing in wealthy families.

I loved Cha Eun-sang, Choi Young-do and Jo Myung-soo’s friendship. How they both protected her when the lead couldn’t do it. The chemistry between the couple is okay, I would say. They were going through a lot with everyone on their shoulders, constantly watching, so I couldn’t really enjoy their scenes. It is more of a plot-driven story. The second couple, Lee Bo-na and Yoon Chan-young, are also really cute.

It’s a long drama and needs to be committed with a lot of patience. If you have that, then please go ahead, and if not, then you are honestly not missing much.

Review: ‘Happiness’ K-drama (2021)

“For you, it’s money. For me, it’s Sae-bom.” – Yi-Hyun.

My all-time favourite Korean drama out there. If somebody wants a recommendation, then I recommend this one only because it’s so freaking good. Honestly, I never thought I would love this drama this much. The drama follows the story of Sae-bom, who recently moved into a new high-end apartment complex, dreaming of starting her new life with Yi-hyun. But suddenly, a disease spread in the apartment complex, strangling them with new challenges and life at stake.

Let’s start with the character of Yoon Sae-bom, our female lead. A thriller drama needs a strong-headed, smart and badass lead, and she is the one. I love everything about her, from her fighting skills to her presence of mind. I never thought I would like this about a character, that alone in a thriller, but Sae-bom’s dressing style is top-notch. It totally made her a badass lead with loose denims and t-shirts. I want to dress like her.

Then, the character of Yi-hyun, why is he so underrated as the green flag? He loves Sae-bom so freaking much that he got ready to marry her just for her. His love was that he gave up everything for her without caring about his life. I can’t accept that people don’t talk about him enough. His action scenes are a chef’s kiss, and the expressions are just amazing. Their emotional scenes are just beautiful because they never spoke about their feelings, but through their eyes, they knew how much they were afraid to lose each other.

Sae-bom and Yi-hyun’s chemistry needs to be talked about more. Basically, Yi-hyun likes Sae-bom, but she doesn’t; however, he still agrees to enter into the arranged marriage with her, so freaking cool and cute. They were literally like husband and wife, but at the same time, best friends. I love their dynamic where they could do anything. They are seriously the couple who die for each other. Additionally, their supporting roles and collaborative efforts make their action scenes even more impressive. Without romance, they gave a lot, also their meeting again scene was my favourite. Their action scenes are amazing and worth watching.

The plot is so freaking good, as you know that I love zombie dramas, everything related to it. This drama devours the plot; the storyline literally kept me hooked till the end. I think what made this drama really good was that everyone was trying to save their loved ones amidst such a dangerous situation. Not the people but the situation made the people villains, which made a lot of sense. Also, it revolves within the complex, but everything is so twisted and keeps me on the edge.

The only thing I wanted was more episodes; the ending was too fast, like literally, I wished to see more of them. I was so disappointed that they just ended it so fast.

I highly recommend this drama, please just watch it.

Review: ‘The Prisoner of Beauty’ C-drama (2025)

“Who says there’s no love between me and Lady Qiao? I admit, I married her for Panyi. But after spending time with her. I saw that she’s not only beautiful but concerned for the people. She has the talent and bearing worthy of my wife.” – Shao Wei

I think every other country’s drama can change, but Chinese drama will always maintain its supremacy. I have never watched any historical Chinese drama, but heard a lot, and finally, The Prisoner of Beauty, the recent Chinese historical drama, caught my eye. The drama follows the story of Xiao Qiao, who gets married to Shao Wei, her kingdom’s rival family, in order to end the hatred between them.

In this drama, there are every kind of trope which had me hooked. There is forbidden romance, arranged marriage, a rival’s daughter, a green flag, a smart, strong and cunning female lead. You know that I am a sucker for the arranged marriage trope, as it gives tension and intensity in a drama that I absolutely love.

Let’s start with our main attraction of the drama, the female lead, Xiao Qiao. I love female leads who are smart, cunning and absolutely hold their ground. Xiao Qiao is a huge green flag because she understands her husband, even though the marriage is all about alliance, she takes the best care of him. She understands him and the situation he went through as a child. I liked that she was shown as a mature female lead rather than stubborn in the wrong ways. She is so manipulative and cunning, OMG I loved that. I loved that even though she married the rival for alliance and even took care of her husband, she still held ground with her principles. She is an absolute drama queen; the acting just to get away with things was mind-blowing.

Then we have our male lead, Shao Wei, who went through a lot, and everything he does makes sense. The boy has a traumatising childhood, obviously, he can’t trust anyone, especially the female lead. However, even though he hated her, he still treated her with utmost importance. His fighting skills are amazing. However, he is absolutely clueless in romance. When Xiao Qiao is flirting with him, he acts so clueless, making me and Xiao Qiao wonder when he will understand. I loved his clueless side. Xiao Qiao helped bring out the child in him that he had lost and was just burdened by responsibility. He is so funny and shy when it comes to romance.

Their chemistry was pure and intense. I liked that their story was relatable, given that they were rivals. Slowly, there was a development rather than just like that. He took his time understanding and trusting her, and she understood that about him. The slow development was everything as they slowly realised that love is greater than hate. The love and respect he shows her, and always stands with her, and she always defends him and takes a stand for him, is so heartwarming to watch; they truly are worthy of each other.

The plot is all about the history between Shao Wei and Xiao Qiao’s family, and to remove the hatred marriage alliance is formed, it is so good and well written. I loved that in historical drama, loyalty is shown as top-notch. Be it Shao Wei’s companion or Xiao Qiao’s companion, the loyalty they have shown was beautiful to watch. The friendship group is amazing and hilarious.

The cinematography is amazing, given that it’s a historical drama, the culture and the costumes are just beautiful. All the side characters were amazing; they made the drama more fun. Shao Wei’s grandmother, a true Queen, knows how to properly give advice, a great woman.

I highly recommend it if you want to watch an arranged marriage between rivals, which includes forbidden romance and captivating leads.

Review: ‘Descendants of the Sun’ K-drama (2016)

“Don’t feel embarrassed just because I found out that you like me. Even so, it doesn’t change the fact that I like you more…” – Yoo Shin-jin to Kang Mo-yeon.

No drama can ever be able to match the hype and the aura of this drama. This drama still holds a special place in many hearts, and I don’t think any drama will ever be able to replace it. The drama follows the story of Yoo Shin-jin, a soldier belonging to the South Korean Special Forces, who falls in love with a hardworking and beautiful surgeon, Kang Mo-yeon. However, when their relationship began, their lives took a turn, forcing them apart.

Beginning with the plotline, a soldier and a surgeon, hell yeahhhhh!!!!! I think this drama balances out the romance and the climax part so well that nothing feels overwhelming or underwhelming. The drama was way ahead of its time, and a 2016 drama, it will be forever remembered. The depth of the plotline was so intense, but then their romance balanced it out. The earthquake sequence, the surgery sequence and the ending were amazing to watch.

Talking about Yoo Shin-jin, what a marvellous character. He is such a sweetheart, but at the same time, a magnificent Captain. For a 2016 character to be funny and flirty was a huge thing, especially since there was a trend of cold-hearted male leads. Yoo Shin-jin looks so serious, however, his talks make him a hilarious character. He, as a captain, was a hell of a ride to watch; the depth of his character made him stand out.

Then we have our surgeon, Kang Mo-yeon, who is one of my favourite female lead characters. Her character is balanced so well as we get to see her being smart as well as funny, her expressions were my favourite. The way her character was written showed us some of the beautiful aspects of her and the drama.

Their chemistry doesn’t even have the right words to describe them. When you first watch, you will think how serious the drama and the couple are; however, when you actually watch this, you will realise how silly they are. I think that is what stood out because both are equally crazy and funny together. Their scenes of teasing each other were everything.

The second couple is everything, a forbidden romance between an army surgeon, Yoon Myeong-Joo and an army officer, Seo Dae-Young. I don’t think so, any second couple will ever be able to match them. First of all, their visual screams their forbidden love; we can actually see the pain and love in their eyes when they are standing apart and just looking at each other. The tension is everything, and I don’t think I will ever get over it. Their ending OMG was so beautiful to watch, even though they talk and taunt each other, we can see the care and love for each other in their eyes. Their OST will forever be engraved in my mind about the heart.

“Say it’s just a strategic retreat. Tell me to wait for you, tell me you’ll do whatever it takes to come back to me.” – Yoon Myeong-Joo.

The team of doctors were incredibly funny, I couldn’t stop laughing because each of them was one heck of a character. They made the drama more alive. The cinematography is breathtaking. The camp added such intensity to the plot, and the famous scenes that went viral were magnificent to watch. The OSTs, each of them are beautiful, and I still listen to them on auto-play. Just like how the drama is intense, the OSTs are also intense, so whenever I listen to the OSTs, I get flashbacks of the couples.

I think this drama still holds a special place in people’s hearts because of the vibe, the OSTs, the cinematography, the dialogues, the plot, and how it was so different from other dramas, and I don’t think it will ever be replaced by anything.

I highly recommend this drama, please watch it.

Review: ‘My ID is Gangnam Beauty’ K-drama (2018)

“The true beauty of perfume lies in the fact that it cannot be seen. Scent is a beautiful thing that can be felt even with your eyes closed. I believe this intangible beauty will be somewhat of a consolation to those who are sick of this world that focuses on outer beauty.” – Na Hye Sung.

Remember, it is a 2018 K-drama, and I watched it at that time, so I am writing this review based on that time, but I still like it. Honestly, this drama is still one of my OG dramas to rewatch. So, basically, this drama talks about a college student named Kang Mi Rae who decides to get plastic surgery because of bullying. At first, she thought it was successful, however, her plan backfired when people started treating her badly and calling her names because of her plastic surgery. Her difficulty increases when her former middle school classmate, Do Kyung Seok, joins the same university.

Let’s begin with the character of Kang Mi Rae. The girl has gone through a lot since her childhood. Looking at her, I have realized that once someone calls you names or teases you for your flaws in childhood, no matter what, the person will grow up hiding and living in tension because of it. The same was true with Kang Mi Rae; she loved to eat food, and because of that, she was a healthy child, but being teased about it, she thought something was wrong with her face. Her character is so relatable because it took such a long time for her to realize she is perfect the way she is and that society will never stop calling her names, but that doesn’t mean she is ugly. Her character development was everything.

Then we have Do Kyung Seok, and in my opinion, he is one of the underrated green flags out there. I like male leads who are attentive, and if they are cold-hearted, then they should be blunt and straightforward. That’s how Do Kyung Seok is. The man literally notices everything, even though he talks so little. The majority of the time, he has come to the rescue of Kang Mi Rae and noticed every little thing about her was beautiful. I loved his character as he knows how to put people in their place and can judge people perfectly. I also liked that they kept him constant throughout the drama as he never changed after listening to people; he kept it that way only.

The chemistry, I would say, was awkward. I definitely did not look forward to their intimacy, not that there is much. If we look through Kang Mi Rae, she couldn’t believe that a handsome man like Do Kyung Seok would like her because of that, she isn’t able to digest dating him. While Do Kyung Seok is not good with emotions so their scenes were so awkward.

However, the reason I liked the drama was because of the storyline and Do Kyung Seok’s attitude. The story line truly shows that no matter how much we do society is never ever going to be satisfied, so do what makes you happy rather than live in the dilemma of the society that will bring you nothing except insecurities.

“Why do we have to be like this? We judge faces…We throw up and have surgeries…as if we’d die if we didn’t get pretty. Why do we have to do that? From now on, I will concentrate on what makes me really happy.” – Kang Mi Rae.

Review: ‘Love Me If You Dare’ C-drama (2015)

“You’re actually reading such illogical and groundless novels.” – Bo Jinyan.

“It’s a romance fiction, what logic does it need?” – Jian Yao.

This drama has put me in a chokehold since I have watched it. Chinese dramas can have cutesy and school vibes but they are also not behind when it comes to thriller and suspense dramas just like this 2015 drama, Love Me If You Dare. It follows the story of Jenny Jian Yao who starts a job as a translator in a mysterious lonely house and it turns out that the house belongs to a criminal psychologist, Bo Jinyan. Later a series of mysterious murders started to take place so Bo Jinyan and his assistant Jian Yao remarked on the journey to solve this mystery.

What can I say about this drama, it’s perfection. As you know I love thrillers and mystery dramas so when I saw this drama I knew I had to watch it and since then, I can’t seem to ever forget about it. It’s been a long time since I have watched it. I went into this drama thinking it was going to be a simple mystery thriller drama but I was so wrong, it is so intense. Let’s start with the character of Jian Yao, the female protagonist. I love how her character is so feminine and gentle but at the same time, she is so smart. Her aura is like a princess so charming and calming yet very intelligent. I loved that she was not shown as someone dumb for a thriller mystery drama.

Then we have the male protagonist, Bo Jinyan. What can I say about him, he has lived this character like no other. His eyes are so hypnotizing which makes the scenes more intense. His mind and how he knew what the criminal had done added a lot of creepiness to the drama. His aura, intelligence and sense of humour were amazing. The male lead did such an incredible job, I don’t think my words would ever be able to do the justice. His one-line comment with a serious face never failed to make me laugh.

The chemistry was just breathtaking. Their scenes felt so real, I don’t even think they tried because both felt so natural. Their scenes were also intense to watch, I could see their chemistry oozing. The romance was amazingly maintained in a thriller drama, I didn’t find it forced but it built up naturally.

The plot was everything, till the end I kept guessing what is the plot twist but still I was dumbfounded. The storyline is filled with angst, drama, suspense, and crime; everything is top-notch. I was legit rooted to my seat just to watch the next episode and get shocked every time. There is also comedy with Bo Jinyan one one-line comment and Jian Yao’s response. The cases were so intense I was so much deeper into finding out what would happen next. The investigation was mind-blowing and it felt so natural as I was also part of the same. The side characters were also very good and fun. The ending episodes were so intense but heartbreaking.

I highly recommend this drama but please check trigger warnings as much sensitive content is found.

Review: ‘The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call’ K-drama (2025)

“Man, who cares about the pittance? These shoes, this suit, this watch…I can get these things with my own money. For me, the white coat is not about making a living. It’s a sense of duty.” – Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok.

The first official K-drama of 2025 that I watched was The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. I love non-romantic dramas with plots of doctors, and fighters, which show a passion towards a particular field. This drama was all over my feed and nobody said a single bad thing about it, everyone recommended this drama and I am going to do the same thing. This drama follows the story of a war-seasoned doctor, Baek Gang-Hyeok, who was called to redevelop a failing trauma center. From the first day, he became the talk of the town for his life-saving skills, and he added two more people to his team: Doctor Yang Jae-won and a nurse, Cheon Jang-mi.

Let’s talk about the main attraction and character of this drama, Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I loved everything about him, his nature was shown so well. He looks so calm while performing surgery, but he can lose his temper in the smallest matter. I loved that they took someone older to play the character, his composed aura in the surgery room, and the whole complete chaos outside of it was so entertaining to watch. His surgery skills and how he quickly comes up with the method to save the patient were so mind-blowing. His funny side was awesome to watch, I laughed so hard. His fighting scenes were amazing to watch, his aura, unfilited comments everything about him screams royalty and his passion to save people.

Then we have Doctor Yang Jae-won, whose character was shown to be so relatable. He was the person who was always stressed, the boy has suffered a lot, but he did an incredible job. The way he and Doctor Bae Gang-Hyeok made an alliance to work together was so fun to watch. His character shows that if we find an incredible mentor who can push us at the right time, we can succeed properly.

Another favourite character of mine was nurse Cheon Jang-mi. This girl was everything and showed that nurses play such an important role in the hospital. I loved her calm side, she knew how to handle everything. I think she is quite good matched up with the crazy personality of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. I need to give a shoutout to Doctor Han Yu-rim, I never hated him because he was so funny. I liked that in later episodes he was on the team with Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok. His and doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok’s scenes were a treat to watch. Another shout out to Park Gyeong-won, he is someone who know what is right and works according to himself.

Overall, the plot was awesome, I liked that they added more information about medicine on the screen, and it did make sense as we move on. The plot is light, not at all intense and as the drama is super short, I liked that they did not add much, but properly closed every case. The team of Doctor Baek Gang-Hyeok was amazing, it is said to be true that with the right mentor we can do anything.

Highly recommended this drama, if you want to watch a medical vibe but not too intense, then this one if for you.

Review: ‘Marry My Husband’ K-drama (2024)

“Do you know what it means to not have a family? Have you been on a boat? After my dad died, it feels like I’m on a boat every day. My feet are firmly planted, but the board keeps rocking. I feel anxious. I want stability. I want to step on solid land.” – Kim Ji-Won.

This drama has me in a chokehold because of how entertaining it was. To be honest, I went into this drama with low expectations, however, I was into it so fast. First of all, I didn’t even understand when I went from the first episode to the fourth in the blink of an eye. Marry My Husband follows the story of Kang Ji-Won, who witnesses the affair between her husband and her best friend and is murdered by them. Then the story takes a turn when she goes back in time to change her future and get revenge.

Let me start with Yoo Ji-hyuk, I am sorry but why is he so underrated as a green flag, the man did everything for Kim Ji-Won. First of all, he is so soft-spoken and well-mannered. The way he came out of nowhere and just paved the way for Kim Ji-Won sparked my interest immediately. His love for her was everything, the man saved her by pushing himself into danger. From the start, he was very persistent in loving Kim Ji-won, which I loved. At first, he might look like a fool but in reality, he is super sharp in playing games.

Then we have Kim Ji-Won, the main lead of the drama. I loved her transformation, she is so beautiful. Her story tells me that it’s not about physical being but people around us. If we have the right people around us no matter how we look, they will always support us. Kim Ji-Won when meets the siblings, she realises how incredibly good she is but has people around her who take advantage of her. I loved to see her self-growth transformation, physically and mentally.

The chemistry was good plus the height difference. I loved their relationship from the start both understood each other so well. I love their friendship and how both were very well acquainted with each other like partners in crime. Since the vibe of the drama is dark and revengeful, their relationship stood out well in that aspect. I like the perspective of them being partners in crime and doing good justice to the plot. On the other side, their love is so pure and healthy. I love relationships where partners understand each other very well and there is one of them. Their past story was so heartwarming to watch, they really taught me what meant to be yours will find you eventually.

The plot line was everything, it was so engaging that I went through this drama too fast especially starting episodes. In a revenge drama for someone like me, I want just revenge without any stupid plotline of seeing the lead suffering again. I want revenge against the enemy and their downfall only and I think this drama truly did that. The drama is very fast-paced and interesting throughout and it is so much fun to watch the satisfying scenes. The ending is so beautiful and pure, I loved it.

If you want a fast-paced drama then I highly recommend this drama.

Review: ‘Crash Landing on You’ K-drama (2019)

If I could convince you to watch one K-drama please let it be this one. This drama has everything, a beautiful laid-back setting, cinematography that makes you swoon on it, a breathtaking couple with sizzling chemistry, a thrilling plot, a second couple that makes us cry a bucket of tears and a group of the most amazing friends that we all wish to have. Crash Landing on You talks about Yoon Se-ri, a South Korean heiress who because of a paragliding mishap found herself in North Korea. Ri Jeong-Hyeok is a North Korean army officer who found her and decided to help her hide and send her back to her country.

Let’s start with Ri Jeong-hyeok, what is not there to not love him? Putting yourself at risk to hide a girl from the enemy’s country and make sure she is safe in his house, and then walking into the enemy’s country to protect her, how high the standard has to go. I loved his cold personality and at the same time his clueless self. That man appeared so cold infront of her yet did everything that she wanted. Why because he loves her? No, because he felt that he needed to do that. He is smart in many things but an absolute loser in love. When he realized he had feelings for her and nothing was making sense to him, he was so funny doing some embarrassing things that never failed to make me laugh. His aura throughout the drama was unmatched. He did everything for his love and I loved to watch it. This drama has the scene of him going out of control because the woman he loves is in danger. (the best scene)

Yoon Se-ri is a savage and at the same time a complete crackhead. The way she was so clueless being in North Korea and trying to be normal by being a complete crackhead was so fun to watch. I loved the contrast in her character, the fact she gets to enjoy freely in a country where she knows no one and on the other hand her own family doesn’t want her. I loved her character, she is seen as badass, savage, beautiful, and a welcoming woman.

Their friendship group was the best. In a drama where the plot line is about helping the leads, I love friendship groups. Because they add comedy as well as character to the drama. I loved the friendship group, they were hilarious. I loved that slowly they all warmed up to Se-ri, the hug of them when they met Se-ri again is imprinted in my mind forever. Because of them, both the leads got together and she got to go back to her country.

The plot line is so dramatic but perfectly executed. The way the episodes were coming and everything started to make sense had me so immersed in the show that I couldn’t stop watching. I loved the side of North Korea, the place, the people and the food. The vibe was so cosy yet haunting. I loved every second of this drama. The cinematography was breathtaking, the train scene, the house, the place everything fitted the drama so well. The costumes added an amazing richness.

The chemistry is everything. They are a real-life couple, what less would you expect? The understanding, the love, and the unspoken words between them every scene of their screams was dreamy. Their eye contact and hug after meeting again, I can never forget the scene. The promise was kept. The second lead couple, Seo Dan and Gu Seung-Joon this drama also stood high in giving me a second couple syndrome. Their story was so heartbreaking. Through the second lead couple, I understood that two broken people can fix or break each other more, and I cried with them.

I highly recommend this drama, please just watch it.
