the book of you

Real life starts with you and ends with you. I always believe in giving yourself priority first; do what you want to do because it’s your life, and you deserve to live the way you want. Recently, it occurred to me that in our childhood, we are a canvas that everyone can come and paint on; however, as we grow up, we learn to protect our canvas. We become a fresh canvas and only allow ourselves to paint however we want. This is the metaphor of life. As adults, we come to know how much we can do. In childhood, the world points out what we are good at and what we are not, and we believe it because we have yet to develop our ability to believe in ourselves. However, as adults, we understand that nothing matters more than our own opinions and thoughts. Whatever the world says, we believe in ourselves and do what we want without anyone’s approval.

The life you have is your book, and you are the pen; fill it however you want. Paint, sketch, scratch, leave it blank, those all represent different aspects of your life, and all are totally okay. The book should represent you, what you want to fill in, because in the end, you are going to sit and grow through your book, aka your life moments. The book of you is special as it indicates how far you have come. Sometimes you have to stop writing, and it’s okay during those times you are taking time to fill up the blank pages ahead with colours.

Remember, the book is yours; never let anyone else even scratch a page in it, and if they do, just tear the page and continue. We are always taught what we have to do with respect to the world; however, we are in this life not to live according to others but to make new pages and fill them with what best describes us. So the book is yours, and you may begin inking it the way you want.

Till we meet again, Be Happy, Be Grateful, and Keep Smiling – a girl who likes to write.
