Book Review: Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney

Just yesterday, I finished this book, and here I am with the review. So this is my second book by Alice Feeney, and the first book by her, His and Hers, was a good book, but not great. However, this book by her was definitely not my cup of tea. So it follows the story of a couple who are struggling in their marriage. So when Adam and Amelia won a weekend getaway, they had a chance to make everything right between them. However, just like their marriage, this mysterious place also holds many secrets that will slowly reveal their true face.

First of all, it is not a thriller with twists and turns. It is just a story with a secret rolling out. I was intrigued after reading the blurb, but was highly disappointed. I was waiting for a plot twist to happen, actually, something to happen, but nothing. Everything in the book was just infront, I knew from the start the entire plot, and I was right. The second every character was introduced, I knew the plot twist, and I was hoping to be proved wrong.

The protagonists were not at all interesting, with no revelations, and nothing about them stood out enough to make this book memorable. I felt them very stale. The book didn’t keep me interested at all. Like it was just a story going on, I was not interested in flipping pages as I should be in a thriller.

This book was unmemorable for me, except for the setting. It was written really well, but the characters were not. The ending didn’t sit well with me at all.

I don’t think so; you will miss out if you don’t read this book.

Rating: 2/5

Side Note: I just want to clarify that this is entirely my opinion; you are free to love this book, and I am free to give my opinion on this book. I would be very happy if you loved this book, but please do not take this review to heart, and it is okay to have different tastes. Thank You.
