Review: ‘Forgotten’ K-movie (2017)

OMG, what in the world did I just watch? I am so happy that a thriller movie is able to mess with my mind. I legit didn’t feel good after watching this movie, and I don’t think I will ever be able to forget about it. Jin-seok, a 21-year-old boy, moved to a new place with his family. One day, his older brother Yoo-seok gets kidnapped and returns after 19 days. But Jin-seok started noticing that his older brother seemed a totally different person. And he ought to find the truth.

The plot, OMG, what can I say, what can I say. The beginning of the movie was more suspenseful with its vibe. I can’t emphasise how good the plot was, I was legit sucked into it. The first part of the movie, full of a suspenseful vibe and the buildup was amazing to watch. The second part of the movie, the way the plot twist happened, I was legit shocked.

Firstly, everything happened in slow motion, as well as fast. In the sense that the scene is normally moving, the feelings of the main protagonist, Jin-seok, were filled with anxiety, which balanced out the movie.

And then the plot twists, it just keeps repeating back-to-back revelations, literally, I was on the edge of my seat. The movie is so fast-paced. Talking about the main plot, it was heartbreaking, and I was shocked to the core. Like, what in the world is happening?

Both were the victims of the situation. Life thoroughly played with them; it was heart-wrenching to see the ending. It’s highly psychological; the mind and the situation of Jin-seok really shocked me.

The acting of both Jin-seok and Yoo-seok was phenomenal; it really gave me goosebumps. The “not to get caught” scene legit made my heart jump for the main protagonist.

The overall cinematography was outstanding. With dark vibes, especially in the beginning and when the realisation happened, everything changed for the worse.

I don’t think so, no one in their right mind can guess what the heck will be the plot twist. Actually, I was more flabbergasted than Jin-seok. My jaw dropped when the whole thing was revealed like WHATTTTTTT.

If you want to forever remember a movie that gave me some of the best plot twists, I highly recommend Forgotten.

My Rating: 10/10

Genre: Thriller, Action, Psychological
