The Importance of Slowing Down

Isn’t it crazy that we used to think that after growing up, getting a job, life would be perfect? Every day will be spent peacefully doing what we love. And it doesn’t come to an extent. However, at a certain point, a sudden realization occurs that we are working in a loop: the demands of the job and life are getting bigger and bigger, rather than feeling content. Isn’t it crazy that this growing world is taking a toll on everyone, leaving us without time to celebrate our achievements because there is a constant urge to do better? I used to think that now I have to work, and then I will relax, but still today I wonder when the relaxation part will come? It’s just work and work. I have experienced that doing work but pushing myself overboard brings me nothing but stress that makes me feel the worst version of myself. I need space to breathe, to step back and enjoy how far I have come. The world never really teaches us the importance of slowing down, but instead, it makes us feel guilty for not working hard.

All of our adult life, we work day and night, which is not good at all. There needs to be time taken to just relax and breathe in a moment. Exhausting ourselves physically and mentally is the worst we could do. Nothing is more important than ourselves; remember that. Your body speaks to you. If it needs rest, shut down everything and slow down. Health is wealth. We need to understand the importance of slowing down, to enjoy the peace of life, to sometimes let our mind free, to not exhaust our body, to enjoy the day without logging to the world, and just be ourselves. Take the trip that you are postponing, eat the dessert you want, dance your heart out, log out of the world and enjoy being yourself, pause your worry about work and understand the importance of slowing down.

The Road Not Taken – Robert Frost

As a literature student, my world revolves around poetry, and I live in it. And I have read some of the amazing poetry and was always amazed by how wonderful a poet thinks. Among them, one of my utmost favourites is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. I still remember how many perspectives I came up with while listening to it. And here I am sharing one of my perspectives on the same. So basically this poem, as the title suggests, is about two roads where the traveller is confused which to take, the one which is the most travelled by or the one which is left unvisited. From this perspective of mine, I am writing about the road that we don’t take, the choice that is left untouched. I always wonder if I would have taken that road where I would be, and if I would be happy. It’s always about the unseen things that we care more about and wonder about. The choice or the decision I made on that day is what I am living now, but I always wonder if maybe I took that road, where would I be today? How would that road treat me? Would I be able to find a better version of myself on that road or at that choice? I always think that both choices can be right; however, we have to find the courage to choose one and move forward with it. In life, every choice comes with challenges that teach us why we chose that path and even make us question why we didn’t choose the other. We always think that maybe that choice would have opened more roads, and so many things go through our minds. I guess thats the nature of our lives, and the choice we make. We always have to look back and wonder about all the choices and the possible outcomes from them.

Don’t wait, just do it!

Don’t wait, just do it! That’s the motto I have been using for my adult life. From my experience, I am talking about how waiting brings nothing but anxiety because we don’t know how it will work out if we don’t try. I was always the one to be scared of doing anything, and still am, but I have adopted the mindset that I will know if I won’t try. Still today, I am scared, but the excitement to learn more about things and gain new experiences has outweighed my disbelief in myself. If I hadn’t started blogging almost five years ago, I don’t know what I would be doing now. Would I still be having this much confidence? Would I have the experience? And so many possibilities would not be coming true. Sometimes things work out in our favour, and sometimes we learn a lesson; there is no in between. There is nothing like bad, it’s all about experience that once we move forward, we understand how strong it made us to handle things. Waiting for things and time to be right and thinking that then you will start is an absolutely bizarre way of thinking to have. Because it’s you who will make the things and time right, but actually indulging in it.

So if you are waiting for the perfect time, it is now and right now! Time waits for no one, so thinking that you will do it later will make a huge difference in your life, and I am not writing in a good way. You need to develop your mindset on how strong and capable you are. And it doesn’t come easily; by facing challenges in your life, you learn about yourself and your strength. Remember, there is absolutely nothing you can’t do if you have set your mind on it.

The next journey…

I am more of a person who likes the journey more than the destination because I know the destination will be final, but the journey awaits me for something exciting. Definitely, every journey takes you to a destination. However, we have the choice to be at the destination for as long as we want, but we can’t say the same about the journey. Journey can be however long, depending on the situation, and this is what I love. I love to go on the path that will bring me to an unknown place where I can discover myself. Because it is said right, we find ourselves in the best at an unknown place, surrounded by our thoughts. It speaks to me when I am sitting and thinking about life, and I get to know myself better. It’s important to take journeys to understand what we actually want. Sometimes we are stuck in a loop of doing the same thing, and we don’t really understand what is going on. So I believe the journey gives us the answer. Sometimes it’s better to leave a destination so that the journey can be better. It’s always about growing ourselves to the best, and we need to leave and move on to another journey.

Right now, in my stage, I have completed one of the most important journeys that I will forever remember. I can see how much I have grown and so many things I have learned. But it’s time to leave this destination and move on to another unknown journey so that I can discover myself better, and I can use my capabilities for the whole. So it’s important to move on in life, taking different paths to better understand life’s aspects. As someone who used to be scared of doing anything, I now love embarking on new journeys, trying new things, and just enjoying getting to know myself better. So let’s cheer to the next journey, which might take you to the best place you have ever known.

the book of you

Real life starts with you and ends with you. I always believe in giving yourself priority first; do what you want to do because it’s your life, and you deserve to live the way you want. Recently, it occurred to me that in our childhood, we are a canvas that everyone can come and paint on; however, as we grow up, we learn to protect our canvas. We become a fresh canvas and only allow ourselves to paint however we want. This is the metaphor of life. As adults, we come to know how much we can do. In childhood, the world points out what we are good at and what we are not, and we believe it because we have yet to develop our ability to believe in ourselves. However, as adults, we understand that nothing matters more than our own opinions and thoughts. Whatever the world says, we believe in ourselves and do what we want without anyone’s approval.

The life you have is your book, and you are the pen; fill it however you want. Paint, sketch, scratch, leave it blank, those all represent different aspects of your life, and all are totally okay. The book should represent you, what you want to fill in, because in the end, you are going to sit and grow through your book, aka your life moments. The book of you is special as it indicates how far you have come. Sometimes you have to stop writing, and it’s okay during those times you are taking time to fill up the blank pages ahead with colours.

Remember, the book is yours; never let anyone else even scratch a page in it, and if they do, just tear the page and continue. We are always taught what we have to do with respect to the world; however, we are in this life not to live according to others but to make new pages and fill them with what best describes us. So the book is yours, and you may begin inking it the way you want.

Challenges

Life is like a game, and we have to solve a level to move forward. Each level is filled with challenges to tackle. And you know what interesting thoughts came to mind? When we are growing, we tackle challenges that come our way. But as adults, we choose our own battle. We choose what challenges to take, what to do and how to do it. That is a huge upgrade that we prepared for the future we want. As someone who was always afraid of taking the step, thinking about challenges and how I am going to do. However, after taking the first challenge, I feel like it’s just the mind that stops us from taking the first step. I now love challenges. I don’t think much before doing anything new because I know once I get the hang of it, I am going to rock it. Challenges make us strong, being able to do anything is actually a blessing, and that happens when we just trust ourselves and just do it. When the realisation happens that everything we want is on the other side of the challenges of fear. From my experience, I can tell that challenges made me so strong, and today I am in that place in my life which I never thought I would be if I had never taken the challenge. I feel like challenges excite me now, they make me go out of my comfort zone and explore what more I can do in my life. It’s the peak adulthood you reach when challenges excite you more than the fear of not being able to do it. Honestly, I would say ahead of time, there will be so many situations that need to be handled with intellect, and that can only happen when we talk about challenges that test us so much. So that we can actually stand up for ourselves and create a life that we always want.

Make it the right moment!

We always wait for the right moment so that we can do or start something. However, does it ever occur that the right moment never comes but is made? When we start something new, we see things happening one by one in our favour. Isn’t it strange how we know nothing but that we start and find ourselves actually enjoying it? So it’s never about the right moment; it’s actually how we create it. Waiting is never the solution for things which we have never tried; it’s always going to be tough. We have to try and experience, we can’t just wait for the right moment to come. I feel like waiting and thinking that we need to become more capable first, and then doing it only leads to us delaying everything. We need to do it right in the moment; we can’t wait for the right moment or when it feels right. How will we know unless we don’t do it? I feel like, from my personal experience, I have learned that whenever I think about how I am going to do it, and feel afraid to just start, it makes me doubt myself more than actually doing it. We, humans, are made to adapt to change; we know how to handle situations, learn new things and trust ourselves. And for that, we can’t just sit and wait for the right moment to come. It’s all in our hands; if we want something from life, then we need to do it without waiting for the right moment. If an opportunity comes along, remember it can bring you a lot in terms of growth or lessons, and both are important in life. Don’t let go of the opportunity just because of your fears; everyone starts when they are afraid, but slowly they find their moment right. We can’t expect the right moment to come just by sitting; we need to take the step, face the fear and make it the right moment. So if you are waiting for the right moment to come, it’s never going to happen. All is up to you; only you can make it the right moment by acting upon it. Don’t think too much, just go for it, and everything will work out eventually.

The Stronger Ones

And sometimes you meet yourself back where you started, but stronger.

I was reading a quote that I screenshot, probably many years ago, which is how stronger ones know the pain of everything. Because they have gone through the pain of dealing with things in life. How funny is life? If it wants to make you stronger, it will make you suffer in a way that you get used to. The stronger you are, the more pain you learn to hide. I will say from my experience, life teaches you everything you need to know how to be strong, even in situations where you want to scream to the world how much you are suffering. It’s not bad being the weaker ones because that’s how you become the stronger ones. Stronger ones are not the ones who know their way around everything beforehand. They are those who know how to spend hours working hard and how to handle various situations. Being strong doesn’t mean knowing everything, but it means knowing how to deal with situations. Crying is never a weakness, but a sign of never giving up and the way to make the heart stronger for life. The way we deal with situations, the more we become stronger. Also, nobody deserves to know what you do, how you do it, or how you deal with situations. It’s only your concern how to be strong and keep going in life. Being stronger and being weaker go hand in hand; they coexist. The stronger ones dealt with situations where they knew nothing; however, they kept going. At some point in life, we need to have some time where we blow off everything that we are dealing with through taking a break, crying and totally not being okay. And everything is fine as long as you don’t give up. So, all out there, remember life is tough, but you are too!

This is tough. But so am I.

Every great story takes time to unfold

“In the end, we’ll all become stories.” – Margaret Atwood.

I love books, and most of the credit for my blogging goes to them. If I hadn’t started reading, I probably wouldn’t be here writing this blog post. One of the biggest reasons why I love books is that they know how to reach my emotions without actually showing. What I have learned from the books is that every book and every story takes time to unfold. In the beginning, everything is a mess, the protagonist is trying to find how to survive, and in the end, everything makes sense. Doesn’t this apply to our lives? Our lives are like book pages, each page inks what is happening and the problems that need to be dealt with. The pages are going to turn, but only after the first page is fully inked or you decide to leave it blank. I never really understood the concept of blank pages until a theory made it into my mind. That’s how important that blank page is. It is not easy to leave the page blank, but sometimes in life we are forced to leave behind what we truly desire and start over. It also means that ahead the pages will be filled with beautiful ink that will compensate for that blank page. So every story unfolds, but slowly, some pages are blanks, some are messy, and some are beautiful. Just like life, it is filled with stages where we will face so many scenarios. But it doesn’t stay forever, just like pages are turned exactly when situations change. And each situation, be it good or small, will forever be embedded in our minds. Some pages will teach us lessons, some will make us happy, some will make us sad, and some will forever be there, reminding us to never give up. So just like every story takes time to unfold, go through different stages in the same way our likes are like this. Our lives take time to unfold, and we go through different stages to see our story unfold. Also, in the world, there are many books according to everyone’s taste. Just like that in your lives, you have chances to throw the entire book and write a new one the way you want.

Sometimes it just takes time…

Just because it’s taking time doesn’t mean it’s not working.

Sometimes it takes time to feel whole again. Time is everything; with time, everything improves, and often we learn a great deal about life and its various stages. Patience is everything, and it’s also one of the toughest things to achieve when we go through every day waiting for the day when we feel it’s the best time. However, sometimes it takes time for everything to improve, and in that, we need to keep going, maintain our patience, and believe that everything will get better soon. Sometimes life tests us in many ways, and some of them are so hard that we just don’t want to continue; however, if it’s not happening, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Maybe it’s preparing you for the big day. Time teaches us many things; it teaches us to hold on and sometimes just to let go and flow with it. Sometimes we need to learn patience, believe in ourselves, and realise that better days are coming. As someone who has always doubted myself, I have come to realise how capable I am of doing many things. Time lets you hold on to things, take it slow, and learn slowly how to achieve them. On the other hand, it also teaches that it’s better just to let go; maybe it’s time to move on and find something that truly deserves our time. What I have learned in my life is that many things we desire never really come quickly; they come slowly, taking their time because they want us to understand and know their worth. As well as we come to understand ourselves and how much worth we are to time. So if something is taking time, it’s okay, you are doing your best. Remember, we want to hold things for the longest, or maybe forever, so it will take time to ensure everything is worthy for us. It’s difficult, especially when you don’t know when it will happen; however, trust yourself – things that are meant for you will definitely come your way in the most glorious way possible.

One day at a time, one step at a time.
