To be a human is to feel emotions. There is nothing wrong with feeling emotions that are within us. Let me tell you: being strong doesn’t mean suppressing our emotions or keeping them from flowing. But why do we need to suppress emotions? That’s what makes us human. It’s an irony that we are human, but if we act like humans and let our emotions flow, it’s seen as a bad thing. I have always been a person who is not well-kept with emotions. I don’t know what I am feeling and how to understand them.
But now I know that to make myself better, I need to let my emotions be felt. If I want to cry, I’ll cry; if I want to scream, I’ll scream, and if I want to let myself get better, I won’t let my emotions control it. I’ll let it flow, let my mind get clear and then get back to my grind.
We are always meant to be feeling emotions, as they are meant to be felt. If we are happy, we celebrate; if we are experiencing unstable emotions, we slow down. Let me tell you, emotions are meant to be felt. Express whatever you feel, give yourself the time to heal, and it’s totally okay to slow down and feel all the emotions.
Emotions are meant to be felt. We think we can control them, but actually they pile up, and slowly they eat us up. They will always come back demanding to be felt, reminding us to slow down and let it flow. There is nothing wrong with feeling emotions, especially those that make us feel like we are on the edge of the mountain. Slow down, think and don’t let your emotions control you. It’s not a race as to who will win. It’s the coordination of mind and heart to work together. Many days we have to listen to both of them and let the emotions be felt.
