Finally, my Korean drama hiatus ends with this thriller. So my friend recommended this drama to me, and I know I have to get on it. I mean, high school students trapped in a building and playing a deadly game sounds freaking interesting. So this drama follows the second-year students of Yooil High School who were forced to play a deadly mafia game during their field visit. Lee Yeon Seo, a girl with sharp reasoning skills, class president Kim Jun, and brilliant student Oh Jung Won all must fight for their survival.
Let’s start with the plot. It’s a game, so everything happens according to the rules, which makes it repetitive. I loved the plot, straight to the point, and it was fun to see what happens when they don’t follow the rules. I would say it was just them rage-baiting each other, and I found all of them so interesting, the bad ones we can say.
Then we have the female lead, Lee Yeon Seo, whose zero contribution I got to see. In the description, it was written with sharp reasoning, and she moves on. First and foremost, as someone who wants to survive the game, nothing should be shared with others. But she would just say everything, and boom, everyone points at her. Just because she is a female lead, she survived till the end. I found no contribution from her.
Kim Jun was an interesting character, but Oh Jung Won, I loved her. Sharp, observant and straight to the point.
I loved each and every character of the play. I could say it was a morality drama that focuses on every character’s virtues and vices. My favourite character was Go Kyung Jun, the top rage baiter among them. The end plot twist got me, and after that, everything was kind of rushed.
The drama is fast-paced with such short episodes. Oooo, and the ending was interesting to say. The cinematography and the panic among them were not about dying but about showcasing their vices.
I recommend this drama.
